NCCBW Launch Party @ D'Arcy McGee's

HogsBack Brewery and Kichesippi Beer Co. were out in full force making sure that party goers had a sample of their signature brew!

It's finally here, it's finally here!  Last night was the official launch party for National Capital Craft Beer Week hosted at D'Arcy McGee's on Sparks St.  There was music, sausage, samples, a bike serving beer and Mayor Jim Watson even showed off his keg tapping skills!

Over the next week celebrate craft beer in the capital by attending one of the Craft Beer Week events like the Sessions Cask Ale Festival, special beer paired dinner with Stephen Beaumont or the two-day Craft Beer Festival featuring 17 breweries.  When you're not hoisting your ceremonial Craft Beer Week mug, visit a brewery to learn how your favourite beer is made then go to one of the participating restaurants/pubs for a special menu and a pint of local brew.

Chef/owner Mike McKenzie of Seed to Sausage was on hand serving up samples of his hand crafted salumi.

Mayor Jim Watson was also on site to tap the keg of Big Rig cask IPA signalling the start of Craft Beer Week.

He also enjoyed a sample or two from the cask.

Hopefully this is the first of many ceremonially cask tappings!
