It's no secret that I love road trips and will start my car on a drop of a hat. In the past two weeks I've dragged a friend through New York State in search of pumpkin ale and taken my parents on a weekend road trip through Ontario cottage country. One of my favourite things to do on road trips, no matter how long the distance, is to stop at road side stalls and highway attractions. Some are tourist traps offering cheaply made souvenirs, others offer locally grown fruits or treats native to the area. My favourite stops over the years include a pecan (remember it isn't pe-CAN, it's pe-CAHN) farm, The Thing and Reid's Dairy (I always stop for a milkshake if I'm going past Belleville).
What was your best road trip find?
