I started playing soccer two years ago with the boyfriend as a fun alternative to doing cardio at the gym. My first game was in the OSSC rec league and I didn't know the rules of the game or how to kick the ball. Since that first game I've done a lot of rule reading, joined a few other leagues (Ottawa Footy Sevens, NCISL) and signed up for the Ottawa Internationals So-Fit so I can finally learn the basics of game play.
We placed second in the tournament, which sounds awesome until I tell you there were only three women's teams entered. It doesn't matter though, it was a great day and I had a lot of fun battling it out with my team in the rain.
