Atelier smashed my birthday cupcake!
Ziggy Zaggy Ziggy Zaggy Oy Oy Oy! It's Oktoberfest weekend in Ottawa, it's also my birthday weekend (how strangely appropriate) - prost! I'm planning a whirlwind food/drink tour that starts at Atelier on Friday night, takes me to Oktoberfest in Vankleek Hill on Saturday and then to the Barhaven Oktoberfest on Sunday before passing out on my couch. I'm going to try my best to take photos, notes and send the occasional tweet but I won't make any promises. I tend to get a little funny when there are celebrations centering around beer.
Anyway, I cranked out three blog posts this week and even attempted the cookies for the Wednesday post twice (they weren't chocolate-y enough!):
- La Cabane Tombe dans les Pommes (Cabane à Sucre): I made a reservation for a meal celebrating the apple harvest back in May and it didn't disappoint. Also, the meal was $50/person - when was the last time you had a meal like THAT for $50?
- Milk and Cookies (Duck-Rabbit Milk Stout): I had a bottle of milk stout and a craving for double chocolate cookies so I made this adult version of milk and cookies.
- The Great Pumpkin Beer Collection: I really do think I've gone a bit overboard with pumpkin beer this year.
