I couldn't even wait to take the photo..
Over the weekend I stopped in at Buttercream Bakery to order a tray (or five) of my favourite nanaimo bars. Their version of Canada's Favourite Confection is true to the original recipe with a twist - coconut/cookie base with a custard middle topped with bittersweet chocolate and (here's where it diverts from the traditional and gets awesome) enrobed in an extra layer of chocolate. It's a little messy to eat but after the first bite you'll find yourself wondering why more desserts don't come with an extra layer of chocolate.
