It's only been in the past few years that I've really started to experiment with cheese and try different types and learn about my cheese preferences. Before that my cheese knowledge was limited to the mild, medium and old varieties of Cracker Barrel Cheese. I can now proudly say that I love a good blue cheese and appreciate a wonderful artisan aged cheddar but I know I still have a lot to learn and a lot to sample. That being said I was thrilled when I received an invitation to be a part of the media launch of The Great Canadian Cheese Festival hosted at Murray Street Kitchen. I had heard about the event through Twitter and had already been contemplating attending so having an opportunity to learn more about it and meet some of the participants seemed like a fun afternoon.
